Could you briefly introduce yourself?

Hi. I'm Devrim Gündüz. I'm a long term PostgreSQL contributor, mainly responsible for the community PostgreSQL RPM packages. I'm currently working for EnterpriseDB, as a Principal Systems Engineer, focusing on both engineering side and HA & replication solutions.

In my spare time, I try to read books, walk, and cycle, and socialize.

Have you enjoyed previous pgconf.eu conferences, either as attendee or as speaker?

Sure! It has always been a great experience for me to attend PGConf.EU conferences. I gave a few talks in the last few years, and I attended every conference since 2010.

What will your talk be about, exactly? Why this topic?

I'll talk about "Scaling your PostgreSQL Database". Every year, I try to present new talks, that is why I picked it up.

In the talk, I will give detailed information about the scaling options in PostgreSQL, with the built-in ones and the 3rd party solutions.

What is the audience for your talk?

PostgreSQL users (or potential users), who manage large amount of data, or want to manage high number of concurrent connections should attend this talk.

What existing knowledge should the attendee have?

The audience should know about how PostgreSQL works, and how to adminstrate at least the basics of the server.
