Could you briefly introduce yourself?

Software engineer at Zalando SE, involved in the development and improvement of NoSQL features of PostgreSQL.

Have you enjoyed previous pgconf.eu conferences, either as attendee or as speaker?

No.

What will your talk be about, exactly? Why this topic?

How to use PostgreSQL in a document-oriented-like manner. I'll try to cover the internals of jsonb, tips and tricks you can use, and the performance for base and corner use-cases. To make it more entertaining there will be also comparison of jsonb with some popular alternatives.

What is the audience for your talk?

Everyone who's interested in new ways of using PostgreSQL and relational databases in general. For those who are hesitant about using documents in RDBMS, I'll share our team experience and explain most common pitfalls.

What existing knowledge should the attendee have?

I would love to see some knowledge of quantum physics and chess openings, but there are no prerequisites - this talk even has few funny pictures to explain some concepts.
