Could you briefly introduce yourself?

Me and my company Cybertec have been in professional PostgreSQL support, consulting and training for close to 20 years.

We provide professional PostgreSQL services around the globe.

I have written close to a dozen books dealing with PostgreSQL and dealt with countless customers.

Have you enjoyed previous pgconf.eu conferences, either as attendee or as speaker?

I have attended and sponsored various PostgreSQL events over the years.

What will your talk be about, exactly? Why this topic?

On the first day I will give a training dealing with PostgreSQL indexing. I will show, what is possible and what can be done on the indexing side. All aspects of indexing will be covered (types of indexes, etc.).

The second talk will focus on the way, PostgreSQL and other Open Source components have made it from an underground movement to core components found in ever major enterprise.

What is the audience for your talk?

The training will focus on technical people. The second talk is for a broader audience.

What existing knowledge should the attendee have?

I guess most people will have a decent understanding of PostgreSQL, which should be sufficient in most cases.
